  1. The tomography is contrasted, so you must have a fasting period of at least 6 hours.

  2. Arrive two hours before the exam, for preparation with the oral contrast medium.

  3. Check with the treating physician if you require a rectal contrast medium.

  4. Take 1 oral travad enema at 3pm the day before the exam, which produces liquid stools in order to cleanse the colon and allow better visualization of the organs.

  5. Submit the creatinine result no more than 20 days after the test.

  6. If you have an allergy to iodinated contrast medium or any medication or food, you must inform the clinic staff.

  7. The day before the tomography if you have authorized food, eat a soft diet and please avoid the consumption of: broccoli, cauliflower, watermelon, onion, legumes (lentils, beans, tilefish, chickpeas), consumption of dark drinks and carbonated drinks .

  8. One (1) hour before the exam you should drink 5 to 6 glasses of water (1 liter) and not eliminate (must have a full bladder).

  9. Do not wear metallic elements or jewelry that interfere with the images.

  10. You must remove your glasses and dentures.

  11. If you are pregnant or think you are pregnant, the diagnostic aid staff should be informed.

  12. Continue with the medications for your underlying disease with little water intake. If you are taking METFORMIN, you must stop it 48 hours before the tomography, and inform the diagnostic aid service personnel.

  13. You must attend the exam with a companion who is of legal age, who has available time and is receptive to receiving the information and recommendations.

  14. You must present: medical order, clinical history, previous radiological studies, authorization from the EPS or insurer.
